Lead and motivate the right way and others will follow and want to work for/with you. However, what you consider “the right way” may not be in sync with how you come across to your team.

If you’ve been in the workforce, under the umbrella of different leadership, you have more than likely encountered one or more of the “Types of Leaders” outlined in the infographic. If you’re a manager, the relationship you have with those you are charged to lead is important. How you choose to be viewed and what level of relationship you want with your team is initially determined by you.

One thing is certain — trust is the key to any successful relationship. Once that is broken, it is a bond that is rarely repaired.

“Surround yourself with great mentors.” I can not stress how important this is.

Having a positive way of thinking and an excellent mentor at your side will always, in the majority of cases, promote a positive outcome in your life.  Negativity and hearing excuse after excuse why something can not be done and surrounding oneself with inexperienced leaders will only bring you down.
